Year in Review - 2006

2006 marked the completion of our 12th year in Full-time Evangelism and this past year turned out to be the best year ever. Below you will see the great things the Lord accomplished through our ministry.

We traveled over 50,000 miles and saw some beautiful country across this Nation as we traveled through 33 different States.

We held Revivals in 43 churches and had weekend or one-day meeting in 7 others.

We got to serve with some pastor friends for the second time in revival and made friends with 17 new pastors who were gracious enough to invite us to preach revival in their churches.

I had the opportunity to preach in 25 pastor’s conferences and 1 evangelism conference.

We saw 953 people saved both in revivals services and through personal evangelism.

Our booklets have grown now to include 11 different topics, covering such things as doctrinal issues, the events of the Second Coming and false theology in the church.

We also signed a contract to have our first book published. This book is due out in 2007. The title is “A Biblical Look at Why People are not Speaking in Tongues Today”.

Our Smoky Mountain Christian Youth Festival and the Adult Smoky Mountain Getaway were great successes this year.

In fact, our retreats have been going so well that we have added another for 2007. It will be a Pastors-Wives Retreat.

This retreat will be designed for pastors and their wives to get away and relax. Pastors will also have a time to preach to each other and share ideas that will help their churches grow both spiritually and numerically. This is going to be a great retreat. It promises to be a wonderful time in the Lord so pastors come be with us and be prepared to preach.

As you can see, we not only had a great 2006 but we are shooting for an even better 2007.

Our Mission Statement

The Donnie Guy Evangelistic Ministry is a Nationwide Ministry. We take seriously the Great Commission so we are committed to taking the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ into every area, beginning first with what we consider to be our Jerusalem, which is every city or community where a local New Testament Churches is situated.

Working with the pastor and congregation, our goal is to reach the lost, refresh the saints and restore unity to the body of Christ. Our obligation is to go where we are sent so we place no priority on the size of a congregation in determining our decision about whether or not to fulfill our duty.

We have adopted Mark 13:37 as our Mission Goal. “And what I say unto to you I say unto all, Watch”. Certainly, as Christians, we are to be watching each day for our Lord’s soon return but we are also to be obediently serving Him while we are waiting. So, with this in mind, we have broken down the word WATCH to set goals for our ministry as we patiently wait for our Lord to appear.

Witness in the World: As we said, we take seriously the Great Commission, “To go into all the world and preach the Gospel” because of what Jesus said on another occasion about the Gospel. “And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come”. (Matt. 24:14) If Christians truly desire to see the soon return of Jesus, then we need to be working hard at witnessing.

Affirm Good Works: The solitary goal of our ministry is to glorify and uplift the Lord Jesus that men everywhere might be drawn unto Him. “This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that you affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain Good Works. These things are good and profitable unto men”. (Ti. 3:8)

Teach the Scripture: A valid but often overlooked part of the Great Commission is “Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you” so another goal of our ministry is to be careful to not only preach but also live according to God’s Word. We believe the Word of God itself will produce what our Lord intends for us to accomplish. “So shall my word be that goes forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the things whereto I sent it”. (Is. 55:11)

Convert the Lost: The primary goal of our ministry is to help the local pastor and congregation reach the lost in their area. “Let him know, that he which converts the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sin”. (Jas. 5:20)

Helping the Fallen: Within the body of Christ can be found a lot of hurting believers, people who have been overtaken by the world, so restoration of the brethren is also a vital goal of our ministry. “Brethren, if any man be overtaken in a fault, you which are spiritual, restore such a one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest you also be tempted”. (Gal. 6:1)
